SMARTLINE-PV participated in the 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC), held in Bilbao, Spain, from 22 to 26 September 2025.
From 22 to 24 September, SMARTLINE-PV was represented at the joint Perovskite Network exhibition boothtogether with the European projects PERSEUS, PEARL, LUMINOSITY, SuPerTandem, LAPERITIVO, TRIUMPH and NEXUS.
The joint booth provided a platform to present the SMARTLINE-PV project to the international photovoltaic community, exchange knowledge with researchers and industry experts and discuss common challenges in the further development and industrialisation of perovskite photovoltaics.
SMARTLINE-PV also co-organised the parallel event “Perovskite Innovation Roundtable: Driving EU Leadership in Perovskite Innovation” on 22 September 2025.
The roundtable brought together EU-funded perovskite research projects to share scientific and technological progress, discuss lessons learned and identify opportunities for closer collaboration. The discussions addressed key challenges associated with scaling perovskite photovoltaics from laboratory devices to large-area modules and industrial manufacturing.
As part of the session, SMARTLINE-PV contributed to the discussion on flexible and rigid substrates, focusing on the balance between manufacturability, scalability and future applications. The exchange also covered fully printed devices, tandem architectures, environmental performance, exploitation opportunities and policy recommendations for strengthening European leadership in perovskite PV.
For SMARTLINE-PV and project coordinator Thomas Rath from Graz University of Technology, the event offered an important opportunity to connect the project’s work on scalable, lead-free tin perovskite solar cells with the wider European research and innovation community.
Participation in EU PVSEC 2025 strengthened cooperation within the Perovskite Network and supported a shared European approach to sustainable, scalable and high-performance photovoltaic technologies.
