“Opportunities for Sustainable Perovskite PV Commercialisation”.

SMARTLINE-PV at EU PVSEC 2026 in Rotterdam

SMARTLINE-PV participated in the 43rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC 2026) in Rotterdam, bringing its work on sustainable, lead-free perovskite photovoltaics to the international PV community.

From 14 to 16 September 2026, SMARTLINE-PV was represented at the Perovskite Network Booth at the Beurs World Trade Center Rotterdam. The joint exhibition brought together the European projects LAPERITIVO, LUMINOSITY, PEARL, PERSEUS, READYPV and TRANSPIRE.

The booth provided a central meeting point for researchers, industry representatives and stakeholders working to advance perovskite photovoltaics in Europe. Visitors were able to learn more about the participating projects, discuss recent developments and explore opportunities for future cooperation.

SMARTLINE-PV presented its research on sustainable tin-based perovskite photovoltaics for building-integrated applications. By connecting scientific research with industrial expertise, the project aims to develop scalable photovoltaic technologies suitable for integration into façades, roofs and other building elements.

On 15 September, SMARTLINE-PV also contributed to the parallel event “Opportunities for Sustainable Perovskite PV Commercialisation.” The session examined the requirements for transferring perovskite technologies from research into industrial production and commercial applications.

Key topics included sustainable and circular value chains, industrial scale-up, environmental performance, policy frameworks and the conditions required for the successful market introduction of perovskite photovoltaics.

Participation in EU PVSEC 2026 strengthened the exchange between European perovskite projects and supported a coordinated approach toward sustainable, scalable and commercially viable next-generation photovoltaic technologies.

SMARTLINE-PV is funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
